Celebrating Community: Villanova University's 20th Anniversary Day of Service with Habitat MontDelco

On September 20th, 2025, over 100 students from Villanova University came together to celebrate the school’s 20th Anniversary Day of Service. This was not just an event; it was a powerful display of community spirit. Multiple clubs joined Habitat MontDelco, bringing excitement, power tools, and a shared mission to give back.

A Meaningful Partnership

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties was proud to partner with Villanova for this milestone event. Together, we guided students in building 50 Adirondack chairs. These chairs have two meaningful purposes: some will be gifted to current and future Habitat homeowners, while others will be sold in our West Norriton ReStore to help fund future affordable housing projects.

This hands-on experience offered students more than just woodworking skills. It provided a chance to connect with their community. They learned the value of collaboration and saw how small acts of service can contribute to lasting change. Isn’t it amazing how a simple chair can symbolize hope and community?

The Impact of Service

Volunteering is a powerful way to make a difference. Each chair built represents a step towards a better future for families in need. The students not only honed their craftsmanship but also gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by many in our community.
