Advocacy
As an affordable housing provider, we recognize that building is only part of the solution, and that sustainable and inclusive policies and systems can promote access to decent housing, while others can create barriers.
And those barriers make it harder to find land for construction, build a home, and/or afford to live in many places. At Habitat MontDelco, we advocate to change policies and systems which pose barriers to attaining and preserving affordable homeownership. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. To that end, it is incredibly important that we advocate for sustainable, equitable and inclusive policies and solutions in response to these barriers to decent housing.
Habitat MontDelco’s approach to advocacy is advanced by Habitat for Humanity International’s decades of on-the-ground experience and policy expertise. Using our deep understanding of local housing policy and its central role in providing opportunities for families, we work to leverage Habitat for Humanity’s brand power, impact data, and outcomes, to reform laws in non-confrontational, nonpartisan ways.
